Why This Maryland Guide Exists
Maryland does not have one public statewide booking-photo roster. Local law-enforcement and detention agencies hold records from their own arrests and bookings, and the public tools they offer differ by county and Baltimore City. Some show current custody information or a photo; others provide a locator, alerts, selected arrest data, or a Public Information Act request path. Maryland Busted Mugshots brings those official routes together so a reader can start with the right record holder. It is a guide, not a source of official records, and it does not display booking-photo galleries.
The state layer has a different purpose. The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) operates the Incarcerated Individual Locator for people in state custody. The locator is a custody and location tool; the reviewed public interface does not provide a general public mugshot gallery. Maryland court records supply case information and later dispositions, which answer a separate question from whether a person is in custody.
What the Statewide Pages Cover
The site is organized around the source and status of a record, with the county route kept distinct from state custody and court history.
- The Maryland home guide explains booking records, county roster and feed differences, and ways to request information from the agency that holds it.
- The County Directory routes readers to the local sites for Maryland's counties and Baltimore City.
- Most Wanted, Maryland's mugshot law, and historical records each address a distinct question about public listings, access, or older records.
- The DPSCS custody guide explains the state incarcerated-individual locator and separates state-prison custody from a county booking.
What This Site Cannot Do
Maryland Busted Mugshots is an independent reference site. It is not run by, and has no affiliation with, a Maryland sheriff's office, detention center, police department, corrections agency, court, or other government office. We do not control or hold anyone in custody, and we cannot obtain an official record on a reader's behalf.
- We cannot confirm a person's current custody or release status, release or transfer a person, or change an official record.
- We cannot post bond, arrange a visit, or send money for someone.
- We cannot advise a reader about a legal case or replace advice from a Maryland attorney.
- We cannot ensure every linked agency page or procedure reflects a later change made by that agency.
A county or city custodian is the source for its own booking and custody records. DPSCS handles state-custody information, while the courts maintain case records and dispositions. A result in one system should not be treated as confirmation from another.
Search Partners
Some search boxes or links may be operated by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, and results. If a visitor follows a referral link and signs up for a paid service, Maryland Busted Mugshots may receive a referral fee. This support helps keep the reference pages available, but it does not give us control over a partner's search results, charges, or account practices.
